Meet Barry P
Meet Barry P. Beck
Barry P. Beck was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on August 31, 1960. He graduated with a bachelor's of science degree from James Madison University in 1982. In 1986, Mr. Beck received his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law, where he graduated in the top 15% of his class. After graduating from law school, Mr. Beck was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps.

He attended the Judge Advocate General's School, where he graduated with honors from the Judge Advocate Officer Basic Course. Mr. Beck then served as the Assistant Staff Judge Advocate for the United States Army Strategic Defense Command in Huntsville, Alabama. Upon his discharge from the Army in 1989, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal.

He is one of the founding partners of Power, Beck & Matzureff. His practice focuses on employment law, personal injury and criminal law.
Mr. Beck is licensed to practice law in the following States:

Mr. Beck serves as a mediator for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia and the 23rd Judicial Circuit of West Virginia. Mr. Beck also serves as a court appointed Discovery Commissioner for the 23rd Judicial Circuit of West Virginia. He is a member of the Local Rules Committee for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.
Meet James J
Meet James J. Matzureff
James J. Matzureff was born in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Musselman High School in Berkeley County and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Shepherd University. Mr. Matzureff earned his juris doctorate degree from Mississippi College School of Law and has actively practiced law for his entire professional career of over 30 years.

Mr. Matzureff is licensed to practice in both state and federal courts, including the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of West Virginia, United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. He is an active member of the West Virginia State Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, the West Virginia Bar Association, and the West Virginia Association for Justice. He is also a founding partner of Power Beck & Matzureff and practices primarily in the areas of serious personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance bad faith, and unsafe products.
Meet Nicholas J. Matzureff
Nicholas J. Matzureff obtained his B.A. in English from Shepherd University, graduating Magna Cum Laude and in the top ten percent of his class in 2013, before attending law school. Mr. Matzureff earned his juris doctorate from West Virginia University College of Law in 2016, where he was distinguished as one of ten students selected to the National Order of Barristers for outstanding oral advocacy and brief writing skills.

During law school, Mr. Matzureff participated in Moot Court, where he was recognized as a semifinalist of the historic George C. Baker Cup and was named Justice of the Steptoe & Johnson National Moot Court Team. Mr. Matzureff also served as Justice of the SGA Judicial Board and was awarded a summer externship with the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Northern District of West Virginia, where he worked with indigent clients charged with federal offenses.

Mr. Matzureff was admitted to the West Virginia State Bar in 2017 and is licensed to practice in both state and federal courts. He is an active member of the West Virginia State Bar and the Young Lawyer Section of the West Virginia State Bar. Mr. Matzureff is also an active member of the Maryland Judiciary and is licensed to practice in Maryland. Nicholas practices primarily in the areas of serious personal injury, automobile accidents, criminal defense, and juvenile defense. He has also served as defense counsel for Berkeley County's Juvenile Drug Court program since 2019. 

Outside of the firm, Nicholas enjoys spending time with his wife, Cathleen, and their daughter, Sofia.
